Major Talent LLC (“Major Talent,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the Platform at majortalent.com and iam.majortalent.com. By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you register and build your profile, we collect:

  • Identity information: first name, last name, email address, phone number.
  • Authentication credentials: password (stored in hashed form; we never store plaintext passwords).
  • Military service record: branch, rank history with dates, positions held, additional duties, job codes (MOS/AFSC), and skill level.
  • ASVAB scores: up to 9 subcategory scores on a scale of 1–99.
  • Education history: military and civilian schools, degrees, majors, graduation dates.
  • Employment history: employers, job titles, dates, skills used, and accomplishments from civilian employment.
  • Career preferences: desired industries, roles, locations, compensation range, employment type, and availability.
  • Career goals and strengths assessment responses.
  • Referral information: name, phone, and email of veterans you refer.

1.2 Information We Collect Automatically

When you use the Platform, we may automatically collect:

  • Log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, and timestamps.
  • Device information: device type and screen resolution.
  • Usage data: features accessed, actions taken, and session duration.
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see our Cookie Policy for details).

1.3 Information from Third Parties

In the future, you may have the option to import employment history from LinkedIn or upload military service documents for automated data extraction. If and when these features are enabled, we will update this Policy and obtain your explicit consent before processing imported data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account and authenticate your identity.
  • Translate your military experience into civilian career language and generate your skills-based resume.
  • Personalize interview preparation questions and career exploration recommendations based on your profile.
  • Match and send you automated job notifications based on your location preferences and career interests.
  • Share your profile with employer partners in our national network, subject to your consent and opt-in settings.
  • Facilitate credentialing enrollment and post-service resource connections.
  • Process referrals and award referral incentives.
  • Communicate with you about your account, new features, and platform updates.
  • Improve the Platform through usage analytics and performance monitoring.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

3.1 With Employer Partners

Your translated profile may be shared with vetted employer partners in our national network for the purpose of connecting you with employment opportunities. You control this through your profile’s distribution settings. You may opt out of employer distribution at any time through your account settings.

3.2 With Service Providers

We work with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Platform (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, email delivery, and identity verification). These providers access your information only as necessary to perform services on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect it.

3.3 For Legal Compliance

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Major Talent, our users, or the public.

3.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information is subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Military and Sensitive Data

We recognize that military service records, ASVAB scores, VA disability status, and career assessment responses are sensitive. We apply heightened protections to this category of data:

  • This data is used solely to provide Platform services to you.
  • It is never sold or shared for advertising or marketing purposes.
  • Access is restricted to authorized personnel and systems necessary to deliver translation, matching, and career services.
  • We retain this data only for as long as necessary to provide services or as required by law.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory, or fraud-prevention purposes. Aggregated, anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for platform improvement purposes.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Opt-out of employer distribution: Disable profile sharing with employer partners at any time through account settings.
  • Opt-out of communications: Unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time via the link in any email we send.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. These include encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), hashed credential storage, and access controls limiting employee data access to role-based need.

No system is completely secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Platform is not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@majortalent.com and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email and/or by a notice on the Platform. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
